EMRS Spring Meeting 2014 Symposium B: Advanced Functional Materials for Environmental Monitoring and Applications

COST Action TD1105 EuNetAir has planned the First International Conference as EMRS Spring Meeting 2014 Symposium B that will take place at Lille Congress Center, hosted by European Materials Research Society (EMRS) in Lille (France) on 26 - 29 May 2014.

The Symposium B proposed by COST Action TD1105 was accepted on competitive basis by EMRS for Spring Meeting 2014. The 2014 Spring Conference of the EMRS will be the largest conference (2500 delegates expected) organized by EMRS with a plenary session, 29 parallel symposia as well poster sessions, a technical exhibition and much more. Special emphasis will be given to the fields related to materials for energy and environment, nanomaterials, materials and light, hybrid organic and biomaterials, crystal growth in material science. A Special Session devoted to ongoing European initiatives in the field of materials and how to promote global actions in key research areas will be discussed, among others..

COST Action TD1105 will manage jointly a Working Groups Meeting (Symposium B, 26-29 May 2014) and 5th Management Committee Meeting (30 May 2014) in Lille.

This Symposium B will involve the Action partnership with European Speakers from Action, External International Experts, Young Researchers, Scientists, Practitioners, Stakeholders.

A preliminary list of Invited Speakers is also defined. Other Invited Speakers will be selected depending on the number of submissions, covered topics and high quality of the contributions.

The conference-fee for presented abstracts will be charged to the authors by own budget. The conference-fee, even for Action partners, is not financially covered by COST Office, as requested by COST rules.

Furthermore, a Special Issue of Proceedings of the E-MRS 2014 Symposium B will be managed in order to submit Extended Paper of the accepted Abstracts to the Open Access Journal of Sensors and Sensor Systems (JSSS), Copernicus Publications. Deadline for Extended Paper Submission: JUNE 15, 2014.

The EMRS Spring Meeting 2014 Symposium B is an event by the COST Action TD1105 EuNetAir in the regular International Conference EMRS-2014.

The conference-fee will not be covered by Action grant for EuNetAir members, as COST rule.

The conference-fee for Regular Attendee is Euro 560 (Full Rate before 14 April 2014) or Euro 640 (Full Rate after 14 April 2014). The conference-fee for Student is Euro 310 (Full Rate before 14 April 2014) or Euro 370 (Full Rate after 14 April 2014).

Pre-registration is compulsory and a pre-payment is recommended. However, on-site payment will still be possible at limited time.

GRADUATE STUDENT AWARDS:

2 awards per symposium can be charged to central budget of EMRS Conference with a cash per awards as 450 Euro. The eligible candidates are students with oral or poster as attendee and co-authors of the presented contribution for the Symposium B.

Please, submit the complete application to the EMRS Secretariat. Winners will be notified directly by the concerned symposium organizers. EMRS Graduate Student Award Winners must be presented to get their prices.

EU-40 MATERIALS PRIZE:

Outstanding researchers under 40 years with high H-index can submit a candidature to EMRS-2014.

The award consists of a 5000 Euro cash prize, a certificate, waiver of the meeting registration fee and a plenary talk at the 2014 Spring Meeting of the EMRS where the award will be presented.

SPECIAL ISSUE JOURNAL OF SENSORS AND SENSOR SYSTEMS (JSSS)

A Special Issue on JSSS (Copernicus) of the extended papers presented to EMRS Symposium B will be edited under peer-review process.

Deadline for submissions of extended papers presented to Symposium B: 15 June 2014.

Expected Publication: December 2014.
