Brief Curriculum Vitae


Dr.–Eng. Kostas Karatzas is an Assoc. Professor and a Research Group Leader for Environmental Informatics at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. The Group is conducting data–oriented analysis and modelling at a raw, processed, and e–service level, for citizens, authorities and industry, employing Computational Intelligence. The Group has a long expertise in web–based applications, web portals and services, as well as in applications for mobile devices and smart phones, with an emphasis on participatory environmental sensing. Kostas Karatzas is the author and co–author of more than 200 scientific publications, and is serving as a scientific committee member for international conferences and as an advisory board member of int. publications, with emphasis on Environmental Informatics and Computational Intelligence.
