Brief Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Ernie Weijers is a staff researcher at ECN and coordinates the research on particulate matter. He is an expert in the monitoring and assessment of air quality, with special interest in particulate matter, its physical and chemical characteristics, and adverse effects on the urban environment. He has experience in both measurements and modelling aspects, as well as in the interpretation of air quality data. He is the principal investigator in the Netherlands of an FP7 CSA project (’AirMonTech’) dealing with new technologies to monitor urban air quality and coordinates the ECN work in the Interreg project ’JOAQUIN’. He has further participated in a large number of national and international research projects, amongst which the recently finished Netherlands Research Program on Particulate Matter.
