  • Wireless remote environmental monitoring units (motes), designed at Newcastle University by the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, tested and deployed across the UK (approx 250 in operation) continuously monitoring CO, O3, NO, NO2, Temp and RH;
  • RF anechoic chamber & instrumentation for wireless antenna testing.
  • Legacy UTMC systems (SCOOT, ANPR, Parking, Bluetooth, etc.) data are available for research to the School;
  • 2 Meteorological stations;
  • Modelling capability for: transportation planning, traffic assignment, traffic emissions (Webtag, SMartNet, realworld)
  • Dispersion models (OSPM Canyon, ADMS and Airviro) for the counties of TeesValley, Durham, Tyne and Wear into Northumberland and Leicester City;
  • Air quality models are available for Leicestershire, Leicester City, Gateshead and Newcastle;
  • Precision NOx/NO2 analyser;
  • Portable precision pollution monitoring equipments for indoor/outdoor measurements (CO, noise and particulates);
  • 6 video cameras
  • Radar speed meter
  • Several GPS devices
